LITTLE BUSHMAN & ELECTRIC WIRE HUSTLE together for two special Wellington shows!

September sees Little Bushman & Electric Wire Hustle teaming up for two very special nights of vibrantly detailed sound at one of Wellington’s premier live venue’s, the San Francisco Bathhouse, on the 23rd & 24th of September.

This will be the first time since April that Little Bushman have taken to the stage in NZ after the release in the same month of their 3rd studio album Te Oranga, which was followed closely by a stint in Australia which saw them wow audiences at the prestigious Byron Bay Bluesfest, as well as in Sydney & Melbourne. Little Bushman is eager to present these new shows alongside EWH to their favourite hometown crowds in Wellington.

"I'm pretty excited about these shows with EWH – I reckon it’s a perfect eclectic match for the audience to bliss out on. It’s all about the fans… I wish I could be in the crowd, drowning in the frequencies and letting go of any mundane weight – mean!"Says LB’s Warren Maxwell.

This week, Electric Wire Hustle wrap up their latest European tour with a final show at the UK’s Big Chill festival, which sees them join a line up of heavyweight international talents including headline act Kanye West. EWH’s extensive European summer tour has spanned 2 months, 20 shows and 10 countries. Then, it’s time to head home for a spell. As well as these two incredibly special nights, EWH will also play 4 more shows throughout NZ, including their other hometown of Christchurch.

“It has been an amazing tour in Europe. The band has been playing better than ever and the audience responses have been incredible. As sad as we are to leave, we're looking forward to performing in NZ again and it will be great to bring our energy and experiences from this trip home.”Says EWH drummer, Myele Manzanza.

This is the first time since 2008 that these two bands have come together – and it is sure to have been well worth the wait.

Taranaki here we come!

It's only a matter of weeks away when we will take to the stage at a newly formed (for the RWC) outdoor venue in New Plymouth – The Big Top, to support our good friends from across the ditch The John Butler Trio! We're pretty excited to not only share the bill with these fantastic musicians, but also to be returning to beautiful Taranaki and all our supporters there.

Tickets are available now from Ticketek, but you should really be quick so you don't miss out on this all class Australian act (and us!)

Thanks to Peggie Gordons for putting this massive event on. We can't wait to see you there!

PRESS RELEASE:

Aotearoa’s magnanimous psych-rock-blues quartet, Little Bushman, announce the release of their new album Te Oranga along with bevy of tour dates.

On the 4th of April 2011, Little Bushman will release Te Oranga their long anticipated follow up to 2007’s Pendulum. This 3rd studio album was written and recorded over the last 2 years at Warren Maxwell’s own recording facilities, STONEFEATHER studios.

Venturing at times into the shadows, then veering off up into the cosmos, it is sure to satisfy all who ingest. From a delta-esque hoedown recitation of the cycle of life, to an alternative cosmic take on Creation – Te Oranga is their tour de force. The sheer diversity between the songs themselves allows for a meandering dynamic, which promises to make for great listening.

“Te Oranga is mostly a celebration of the warmer side of humanity” says band front man Warren Maxwell.

To celebrate the release of Te Oranga, Little Bushman are keyed up to take to the road for 4 stellar shows, which will be their first solo performances in well over a year. Little Bushman is proud to perform them first, right here in Aotearoa. Soon after, they’re heading to Australia for a handful of shows – including the revered Byron Bay Bluesfest.

Warren Maxwell says “We’re really looking forward to getting on the road and sharing our new album with fans & whanau. We’re taking our show to the next level to bring a quality psychedelic, sonic & visual experience – our audience deserve quality and we hope to oblige!”

With Nudge their special guests for all shows, a Wellington trio who recently supported The Black Seeds & Fly My Pretties nationally with their stomping drums, soaring guitar and savage organ mania, this will be a true kaleidoscopic experience!

 CHRISTCHURCH

This show is on hold indefinitely. Our hearts go out to all affected by this tragic disaster.

Sat 2nd April – DUNEDIN Sammy’s

Fri 8th April – WELLINGTON The Garden Club
